Ana + Tim | Cordiano Winery | Escondido | Wedding

She quoted “You don’t marry someone you can live with… you marry someone you cannot live without.”  I see it, I see that. It’s in your photos, your expressions, your touch and your love for each other.  It is undeniable. Congratulations Ana and Tim.

Here is their beginning: Ana and Tim met through their persistent and mutual friend. He was eager to get the two of them together, knowing they would be perfect for one another. And he was right. It happened over a bbq and an instant attraction for one another… and a quick “let me fix myself up” before they began their first conversation.

And 2 years later, they stand together on top of the hills San Pasquel Valley, at a beautiful venue with a panoramic view of the city below. Now. Married. With family and friends from Romania, San Francisco and all over to celebrate their special day. To never living without one another.

A beautiful choreographed dance.

Joy + Caesar : San Diego : A Starfish Wedding

It was one of those weddings we dream of as little girls. To the tiniest details – the dress, the cake, and the theme. Light colored shells peeking out of brown sugar sand sprinkled around centerpieces. Silver starfish hair ornaments and jewelry. Personalized seashells that led their guests to their seats. Sparkling blue lights and table covers. I felt like I was Ariel, swimming under the sea.

Overlooking the San Diego skyline, the reception was held at the Soledad Club. It was an intimate and beautiful venue, and as mentioned in her thank you speech, they chose to be here with their closest family and friends. And it was just that. Intimate. Close. Perfect.

After some time of mingling with her guests during cocktail hour, I found Joy and asked her how she was doing. Her exact words were “I feel like a princess.” Ah… smiles. It was exactly what I wanted to hear. It can be so easy to forget to take that step back and enjoy the moment, it can be a dream that happens so quickly and we wake up realizing it’s already over. She took it in, her big day, she was with the most important people in her life. This – this made me smile.

They capped the evening with thank you’s and a speech that brought tears.. tears with an “s” to my eyes. I usually don’t cry until after I sit down and go through the images, but this time, while the camera was held to my eye and I was looking at her, looking at him… and I listened to his speech. He hesitated at first as Joy turned to him with the mic, but began his speech with his thank you’s … thankful for this day, thankful to have found Joy. He glanced at their guests, then to the ground and said, he did have one wish. One wish that could have made this day even more special than it already was. His one wish, that his mom could have been there, for his mom to have met the most beautiful woman he was marrying today…

But we all know that somehow she was a part this magical day. That she did meet his beautiful bride. And that she had blessed them with her love, her happiness, and with Joy. His wish, I am sure, came true that magical day.

Now, let’s bow our heads and dance.

Thank you Orn, for the beautiful images of the church and of the wedding. Thank you for being my right hand woman.

Congratulations many many times Joy and Caesar, I so much enjoyed working with you, photographing you and getting to know you and your family and friends. Lots, and lots of LOVE!

Serena + Josh : San Diego Weddings : MCRD : Old Town

Who’s the new guy in town? Inquiring minds want to know.

And that is how it all started, AN inquiring mind wanted to know. This office romance turned into something more… they became each other’s best friend. Shared interest in sports, life, karaoke nights, and of course, each other.

For as long as I have known Serena, she loves to have a good time with her closest family and friends. You are invited, he is invited, we are all invited. She sets up the best: Ugly Sweater Parties, Costume Parties, the Wear All White Parties, Lets-Get-Together Parties, After Parties… it runs in her blood, and it also runs in his blood – they make a great team. I was able to witness it the night of their wedding.

With families and friends, bride and groom strutting their moves, you can’t help but want to jump in and dance around with them, even with a camera and tripod wrapped around your neck. Watch out, I may be hazardous. Josh, I can see the attraction and the magnetism she has on you and on all of us. She does this with her love for life and with the biggest smile on her face. 🙂

Josh & Serena: I wish you two the best, and lots and lots of love and hugs. Congratulations!!!

The garter that was passed down from her grandmother.

The wedding ceremony and reception was held at the MCRD overlooking the Bay. It was the perfect day to say “I do”

I believe, Josh, I caught a half wink… oh yes, indeedy.

The speech and this image that made me cry over and over again.

Oh plane, you made this day extra memorable by flying over every 5 minutes… during the ceremony.

You 2 are gorgeous! Gorgeous! Gorgeous!

R + M : San Diego : Wedding

So it happened, the union happened and I couldn’t be more happier.

MaryAnne: When I received your email, I was literally jumping up and down, no questions to ask just completely ecstatic, thrilled, I just didn’t fall to the ground (wink, wink. Don’t worry, your secret is safe with me… I will not utter a word).

You two worked so hard at getting everyone to arrive on time, to make sure no one had on their phillipino watch, however,  you did  set them back about an hour but it all worked and paid off.

Rey and MaryAnne – you two make the perfect team.

Here is a look at your smiley and happy faces.

Who doesn’t like to jumping photos? Especially Rey, who wouldn’t stop when everyone else did. I must say, you are an A+ jumper.

MaryAnne… on the other hand…

I know, I know you said this is usual thing for you, but I must say sorry once again. You are so cute MaryAnne. This makes a great action shot with blurred movements. 🙂

Why iphones are the greatest inventions.

By the way, please thank your mom for making me try that piece of cake. It was Deee-lish!!! She watched me eat it to the very last bite. Now thats true love.

Stephanie + Nicholas : Maui, Hawaii : Destination Wedding

After my session with the groom and his men (such a photogenic group), I walked into Stephanie’s hotel room and she looked absolutely stunning. I could not stop gushing and smiling, smiling and gushing. In fact, I was gushing so much, Stephanie had to put a stop to it, her eyes a little watery. “You will ruin my makeup if keep this up.” My apologies, but how do I hide my annoying grin?

Up until the moment they exchanged vows, I could tell they were both excited and nervous at the same time. But after she walked down the aisle, said their I do’s and became husband and wife, the nervousness subsided, their eyes continuously locked with one another, and there was this instant glow around them. I saw Stephanie and Nick’s true expressions. Love and happiness. Tears and smiles. I could not have asked for a more perfect day, even with the strong winds, and overcast day. It was the perfect day.

Here is a look at your perfect day.

From I just woke up…

To happy little girl, she just needed 10 minutes. So do I Sophia, so do I!

She was the perfect maid of honor..

And he was the perfect best man.

I love wedding speeches.

Aloha from the wedding party

Congratulations Stephanie and Nick, I wish you so much love and happiness! LOTS of IT!

Linda + Hiep Hoang : San Diego : Wedding

When I first met Linda & Hiep, it was an instant connection. It felt like we were old friends getting together once again but it was the first time we had just met. They lit up the room with their presence and their welcoming big SMILES; Hiep has a permanent smile and Linda has that million dollar one. We talked wedding and non wedding topics, the conversation just flowed. They were just happy, happy to settle down and one day call each husband and wife. It is when you know you found your perfect match and I was lucky enough to be a part of their special day… and new found friends of mine.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Here are a series of photos worth a million, in fact, it tells a story. A love story. You can almost hear Colbie Callait singing in the background.

Our plan was to find a place, and set the scene. We were on a very tight schedule and we needed to find a secluded spot for them to see each other for the “first time.” The wedding party watched and waited below as she slowly came up on the escalator and he was waiting…

Here is a look at their first look.

I cried. And to make it worse, I had Faith Hill “Love is a Sweet Thing” playing in the background.

Again, many congrats to you two. Lots of love… Love is a sweeet thing.

*Many many THANKS to Nicole Rork for being by my side and assisting me with this wedding. Everyone needs a sweet Ninja in their life. You were mine and theirs. Thank you so MUCH!

Monica + Steve : St Joseph’s Cathedral : Coronado : North Island Club

Anyone who had the chance to meet and/or work with Monica and Steve should be very lucky.  I consider myself very lucky. Monica, she is stunning. Absolutely stunning, not only on the outside but very much the inside as well. Heart of gold. And Steve… it was quite humorous to hear the priest pick on you, or was everyone else picking on you but it only shows how much Monica means to you. You two are meant to be, and are very lucky to have each other. I was smiling the entire wedding, that’s a lot of smiling… 12 hours of smiling! I really love you two. I love your whole family.

I always have such a hard time picking images for everyone to sneak a peek. Do I choose the ones that has me giggling, or smiling, or awing (awing, such a word?) or dang! that was fierce!! Here it is, your sneak a peek.

Hmmmm…. I think I went a bit camera happy with the girls. Don’t worry boys, you will soon get your spotlight.

The ceremony took place at the St Joseph’s Cathedral in Downtown San Diego.

Oh Steve, when you thought no one else noticed.

A favorite of mine. It was right after they sealed it with a kiss, now husband and wife…

Congratulations Monica and Steve. We love you!

The first dance and Steve is still gushing.

For you Mom and Dad. Congrats to both on your many years of marriage.

The photobooth was a success, I am glad your team of family and friends enjoyed it as much as we enjoyed them. I will post a few more in the next week or so.

It was the wedding I was very much looking forward to shooting, I had the pleasure of shooting with the very talented Sovanna & Seung of Nara Photography. They are the super couple (putting you in my pocket). Lea Eleccion of Celebrations By Design, coordinated the wedding and she made the wedding flow like lava off a chocolate cake (sorry I am craving chocolate). Plus she’s a sweetie and every time I see her, I want to hug her.  Mannie De Leon, the DJ of the night kept the guests entertained, the bride and groom entertained, I was entertained (smiling for 12 hours!!!).

The night was recorded by Gerald Labrador of GLVIDEOGRAPHY. He is extremely patient and moves where you move. No joke. He took my parking space, beat me to the parking space I was eyeing to get to the wedding party. He did not know I was 3 vehicles behind him waiting to make that u-turn to snag it. But I still approve of him.
